Designer- Kids

Position Summary

Mud Pie is actively seeking a Designer to join our Kids division! We are searching for experienced apparel designers with knowledge and exposure of the infant/toddler industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in apparel design, preferably baby or toddler
  • Understanding and knowledge of fabrics and apparel construction
  • Experience in gift/hard good design
  • Capability to work/collaborate and lead a small team
  • Ability to recognize and analyze trends
  • Must be comfortable communicating with overseas vendors
  • Group presentation skills including oral delivery and product walk-throughs
  • Ability to multi-task with exceptional organizational skills
  • Must work well in small group environments
  • Execution of designs with overseas vendors through an outlined sampling and development process
  • Collaboration with Technical Designer in creation of apparel tech packs
  • Approvals for all design and production submits
  • Support development team and sales team by preparing necessary visual tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design or related field
  • Entry-level and experienced candidates will be considered
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain and build relationships with overseas vendors
  • High level of creativity paired with strong understanding of the Mud Pie aesthetic.
  • Be able to work on deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Organization with a dedication to details and final product quality
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude under pressure

Assistant Designer- Home

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with curren color, font and print trends and styles
  • Conduct frequent research in the market place for new and current treands and piece types
  • Translate trends into concepts that fit the Mud Pie brand
  • Assist Design Director with spec designs
  • Conduct and review product revisions with department Director
  • Identify piece types and products for development
  • Prepare presentation materials for line previews
  • Responsible for assisting with sample review and approval
  • Independently design one to two collections with Supervisor approval
  • Versatility and resourcefulness in design styles and techniques
  • Participate in design meetings and reviews

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related design field
  • Entry level candidates with the right experience that are willing to grow with Mud Pie 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite- InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and creative problem solving skills
  • Strong creative vision including style, color and pattern direction
  • Proven ability to multi-task under deadline pressure with excellent follow through
  • Ability to manage product design in fast-paced as deadline driven environment
  • Works well with a team but independently with minimal direction

Assistant Maintenance Technician 

Position Summary

Mud Pie is currently hiring an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse team. The Assistant Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with the upkeep of Mud Pie’s equipment, conveyors, building and grounds to minimize interruptions in daily operations and ensure employee safety. Our ideal candidate must be resilient, a focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a complex environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance of equipment, conveyors, vehicles, buildings, company grounds and general maintenance service as needed.
  • Tour warehouse on a regular basis to ensure buildings and equipment are safe and ready to operate.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and assist with projects as needed.
  • Monitor all materials handling equipment (MHE) maintenance activities, making sure that all equipment is serviced as required.
  • Practice established safety, health, stock rotation, contamination and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize staff injuries, lost production time, damage and contamination of product.
  • Monitor security systems and enforce security policies and procedures adhering to all state, federal and company requirements.
  • Communicate with trash hauling and salvage companies to ensure that services are provided.
  • Operate in accordance with OSHA and other applicable standards.

 Requirements:

  • 2+ years of related industry experience
  • Experience with conveyors is required
  • Possess warehouse-related knowledge of equipment and buildings
  • Must be resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a complex environment
  • Weekend and overnight hours may be required
