Job Title: Distribution Director

Reports To: VP of Operations

Position Overview

The Distribution Director provides strategic leadership and day to day direction for the Mud Pie Distribution Center. This position is the key strategic leadership role in Mud Pie’s distribution operations. The Distribution Director will be highly involved in Mud Pie’s transition from a manual distribution process to one that is more automated and technologically innovative. They will need to be capable of leading this transition while maintaining the facility performance and its positive, objective oriented organizational culture.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing distribution budgets for the operation. Monitor performance and attain expense performance as budgeted.
  • Lead and drive facility culture to ensure a positive, respectful and collaborative environment. Maintain open communications with all associates in the organization and reinforce a positive approach that is focused on performance excellence.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with distribution team to ensure all personnel are aligned with organizational objectives and needs.
  • Assist company leadership in transforming distribution operations from a manual, labor intensive process to one that is more automated and systems driven.
  • Coaches and develops distribution leadership team. Monitors and evaluates staff performance to ensure performance is aligned with expectations.
  • Monitors and adjust facility schedules and staffing to meet customer shipment needs and company financial plans.
  • Ensures facility housekeeping and safety performance is maintained at high levels of performance.

 Required Qualifications and Skill Set

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive distribution leadership experience in a high volume, pick and pack environment.
  • Experience leading a team in excess of 100 people in a growing organization. Must have demonstrated success in building and maintaining a positive and inclusive culture. Experience coaching and developing management and associates at all organizational levels.
  • Four year degree in business or supply chain related field or significant relevant experience in an applicable environment.
  • Prefer experience in establishing automated distribution environments and implementing progressive WMS systems and processes. Past project management experience in high volume pick-pack operations a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to clearly communicate at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with strong proficiency in Excel. Ability to analyze reports and determine appropriate actions to maximize operational performance
  • A strong focus on safety and experience leading organizations with an excellent safety performance. A no compromise attitude in areas of housekeeping and safety. Experience in 5-S implementation a plus.

Job Title: Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will support the sales team and work directly with specialty retail stores nationwide.  The Customer Service Representative will handle incoming/outgoing calls and emails to promote the sales of Mud Pie products, to manage inquiries, and to resolve concerns.  A specialized software system is used to manage customer orders. The Customer Service Representative may also handle other administrative projects as assigned.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Participate in small call center setting handling incoming calls and emails from customers and sales organization
  • Initiate outbound sales and customer service calls and emails
  • Open accounts and maintain customer records
  • Proactively generate sales

Job Title: Product Development Intern

Mud Pie is seeking candidates for a fashion apparel and product design internship in our Atlanta-area headquarters for the Summer of 2016. The internship will be paid and scheduling will be flexible based upon the needs of the intern.

Position Summary:

Assist the Product Development team in all aspects of daily responsibilities. Opportunity to work in several product categories for maximum exposure and enhanced growth potential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist living, fashion, and kids design departments with sample management, design commenting, and general sample organization
  • Help with design specs, approving fabric qualities, color submits, lab dips, strike offs, and any and all other levels of approval required in the design process
